SOUNDS

As an artist, my main goal is to preserve. To preserve the past, as well as the present, for the future generations. As an Armenian artist, this goal is even more precious. Armenian history, specifically Ottoman Armenian history, which is where my focus lies, is extremely important to protect. The genocide not only took more than 1 million lives, but it destroyed history and it silenced hundreds of thousands. Many who were lucky enough to escape found themselves later being displaced, this time through the wars that ravaged the Middle East and again silenced their stories. HOMEGROWN is a project to protect the stories, history and culture of Armenians.

I couldn't stop listening.  First of all, she talks like my own grandmother did -- I love it. But also, you've done a great job blending narrative, sounds, ideas.
